Area Sales Manager

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales & Business Development

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for lubricants and related products.

  • Identify new business opportunities, markets, and potential customers in industrial, automotive, and retail segments.

  • Promote and demonstrate technical benefits of lubricant products to customers.

2. Customer Relationship Management

  • Maintain strong relationships with distributors, dealers, OEMs, and industrial clients.

  • Conduct regular visits to customer sites for technical support and performance follow-up.

  • Handle customer queries, complaints, and ensure timely resolution.

3. Technical Support & Product Knowledge

  • Provide technical presentations, product demos, and training to customers and sales teams.

  • Guide customers in lubricant selection based on equipment requirements and operating conditions.

  • Coordinate with the technical team for product testing, trial runs, and troubleshooting.

4. Market Analysis & Strategy

  • Track competitor activities, product launches, pricing, and market trends.

  • Develop area-wise business plans and implement promotional activities.

  • Recommend product improvements or new product needs based on field feedback.

5. Team Management

  • Lead, guide, and motivate field sales executives.

  • Set sales targets and monitor daily sales activities.

  • Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching for improvement.

6. Reporting & Coordination

  • Submit daily/weekly sales reports, market updates, and visit reports.

  • Coordinate with production, dispatch, and accounts teams for order fulfillment and payment follow-up.

  • Ensure adherence to company policies and sales processes.


Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related technical field (preferred).

  • MBA in Marketing is an added advantage.

Experience:

  • 4–8 years of field sales experience in the lubricant/oil/automotive/industrial products industry.

  • Experience in handling distributors, industrial clients, and OEMs.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong technical knowledge of lubricants, viscosity grades, applications, and machine lubrication systems.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work independently in the field and achieve targets.

  • Good relationship-building and problem-solving abilities.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools.
